The Bruins look to get back in the win column and stop their current losing streak at two games when they take on the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena on Saturday night.
Boston is coming off a 6-5 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday and fell to 3-2-0 on the season.
Head coach Marco Sturm mixed up the lines in Boston’s morning skate, moving around forwards to hopefully spark some offense. Among the changes were Morgan Geekie and Pavel Zacha switching places in the top six and all signs point to John Beecher making his season debut for the Black and Gold.
Sturm told reporters that Jeremy Swayman would get his second straight start in the first half of the back-to-back. Swayman surrendered six goals, two while shorthanded against Vegas, and now posts a .916 save percentage in three starts.
The first-year bench boss also said Hampus Lindholm would be a game-time decision. Lindholm has missed the last three games after exiting Boston’s home-opener against the Chicago Blackhawks with a lower-body injury.
Colorado is coming off a 4-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets to improve to 4-0-1 on the season. The Avalanche are 1-0-1 on home ice to begin the 2025-26 campaign.
Avalanche beat reporter Bailey Curtis confirmed Scott Wedgewood would get the start for Colorado, with Trent Miner as his backup. Mackenzie Blackwood ended his conditioning stint with the Eagles, Colorado’s AHL affiliate, on Friday will not dress for the Avalanche.
Puck drop is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET on NESN and 98.5 The Sports Hub.
