The Bruins welcomed former captain Brad Marchand back to Causeway when Boston hosted the Florida Panthers at TD Garden on Tuesday night.

The two-time Stanley Cup champion made an immediate impact for the visitors — drawing a tripping penalty on Tanner Jeannot just 33 seconds into the matchup.

Not only did Marchand put the Panthers on the man advantage, but he also recorded the primary assist on Mackie Samoskevich’s power-play goal at 1:01 of the opening frame.

The Black and Gold faithful made their love for Marchand known when the Bruins aired a tribute video during a TV timeout at 10:39 in the first.

Marchand was clearly emotional as the fans in Boston continued with thunderous applause that lasted well after play resumed. A chant of “Marchy” broke out moments later.

Entering Tuesday night’s tilt, the 37-year-old forward played all but 17 of his 1,107 NHL games with Boston. His 422 goals for the Bruins rank him fourth in franchise history, and he ranks fifth with 976 points.
