After missing seven of the first 10 Bruins games with an undisclosed lower-body injury, Hampus Lindholm has been placed on injured reserve, the club announced Sunday.

Lindholm was injured in Boston’s home-opener against the Chicago Blackhawks on Oct. 9.

Head coach Marco Sturm has said the injury keeping Lindholm sidelined is unrelated to the fractured patella that caused the veteran defenseman to miss 65 games last season.

Lindholm returned for one game — Boston’s 4-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Oct. 18, but has not been able to crack the lineup since.

To fill the open roster spot, Bruins general manager Don Sweeney announced the club has recalled Jonathan Aspirot from Providence.

Aspirot has played in all five of the baby B’s games this season. He has one goal and two assists for three points. He has amassed 128 points (31 goals and 97 points) across 297 AHL games with Providence, the Belleville Senators and Calgary Wranglers.
