UPDATED 3:53 p.m. ET: Boston activated Hampus Lindholm and assigned defenseman Michael Callahan to Providence, the club announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Bruins fell 7-2 to the Ottawa Senators in the first half of a back-to-back set on Monday night after defeating the Colorado Avalanche 3-2 on Saturday.
This is the third back-to-back of the 2025-26 campaign for the Bruins. Boston won its first set by defeating the Washington Capitals and Chicago Blackhawks to kick off the season. The second set, however, was at the tail end of a three-game road trip, during which the B’s failed to get a win.
Morgan Geekie enters the contest riding a four-game goal streak. He leads the team with seven tallies in 11 games, and is tied with Pavel Zacha for second in points (nine), behind only team-leader David Pastrnak with 13. After being kept off the scoresheet, Pastrnak, who has five goals and eight assists, saw his four-game point streak end in the loss to Ottawa.
Across the sheet, the Islanders are coming off a 4-3 shootout loss to the Flyers on Saturday in Philadelphia to begin their four-game road trip.
Alexander Romanov is set to miss his fifth game with an upper-body injury, and Max Shabanov will be out of the lineup for a third straight game.
Ilya Sorokin will get the nod against the Bruins on Tuesday night, per Head Coach Patrick Roy. Sorokin is 4-3-2 lifetime against Boston with a 2.73 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage.
