The Boston Bruins continue their three-game homestand with an Atlantic Division clash with the Buffalo Sabres at TD Garden on Thursday night.
Coming off a 5-2 victory over the New York Islanders, the Bruins will look to build momentum against the Sabres and capture their second win against their division rival.
Boston won its first meeting with Buffalo this season and owns an overall record of 160-117-29-14, with a 1042-977 scoring edge. The Bruins are 91-47-14-7 at home against the Sabres and 4-3-0 overall on TD Garden ice this season.
Morgan Geekie extended his goal streak to five games when he lit the lamp in Tuesday night’s win over the Islanders. He leads all Boston skaters with eight tallies in 12 games this season. However, based on the club’s lines during morning skate, Geekie is expected to start on the third line. Marat Khusnutdinov skated with Elias Lindholm and David Pastrnak in the switch.
Joonas Korpisalo is slated to make his second straight start after making 33 saves against the Islanders. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is expected to get the nod for Buffalo. He has appeared in one game for the Sabres — a 4-3 shootout loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Oct. 25.
Across the sheet, the Sabres are coming off a 4-3 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets, but have secured points in six of their last seven games. Buffalo is 0-2-1 on the road this season.
Forward Jordan Greenway is expected to make his season debut, centering a bottom-six line with Jason Zucker and Jack Quinn. Greenway missed the entirety of training camp following summer surgery.
Puck drop from TD Garden is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on NESN and 98.5 The Sports Hub.
