The Boston Bruins close out a four-game road trip Wednesday night against the New York Islanders, looking to finish .500 in those contests. The Black and Gold’s lone win so far came in overtime against the Los Angeles Kings on Nov. 21.
The game at UBS Arena marks the third and final contest between the two clubs in the 2025-26 season. Boston beat the Islanders 5-2 in their first and only meeting at TD Garden this season on Oct. 28 and then the Original Six franchise captured a 4-3 shootout win in New York on Nov. 4.
Matej Blümel slots back in and will skate on the first line with David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha, while Morgan Geekie and Elias Lindholm slide down to the second line with Marat Khusnutdinov.
Jeremy Swayman will get his third consecutive start in net for the Bruins. He posts a 2.79 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage with a 9-6-0 overall record this season. Swayman is 3-2-0 in his last five starts and was the winning netminder in Boston’s shootout winner over New York earlier this month.
Across the ice, the Islanders are coming off a 1-0 shootout win over the Seattle Kraken on Sunday and are 3-2-0 in their last five games.
Ilya Sorokin is expected to get the start in net for New York. He has started the two previous games against the Bruins with a 3.39 goals-against average and .854 save percentage through those meetings this season.
